Armed conflicts. Natural disasters such as fires, hurricanes, landslides and floods. Energy, mining and other resource developments. Public health and public safety. Today so many people are required to make critical and potentially life-changing decisions across a variety of situations, often without a full understanding of what lies before them.
3D Planeta helps customers see clear to where they need – and want – to be via our patented 3D technology, which creates photo-realistic images that provide unprecedented accuracy in identifying and mapping everything in your path, such as terrain, structures, tree canopies and objects. It is the world’s most accurate and up-to-date 3D visualization of air, land and sea.
Our 3D image fusion and visualization platform, which will be offered as a standalone or cloud-based platform, converts ordinary two-dimensional maps and imagery into 3D stereoscopic images and content, providing depth perception to images that can be viewed via desktop, mobile, VR and AR devices without the need for additional or special equipment, features not currently offered by industry leaders such as Google and ESRI.
3D Planeta’s images are created directly from satellite, airborne and/or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs, aka drones), enabling 3D Planeta to source and integrate real-world images quickly, providing customers with up-to-date images when and where needed.
The detailed bird’s eye view that was once the sole reserve of fantasy gameplay has become a reality. The global digital map market is projected to record a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16.2 per cent between 2019 and 2024, at which point it will reach an estimated value of $29.4 billion (US).
Driving that growth is the accelerated adoption of 3D platforms, advanced technologies for surveying and digital map-making, and mobile computing devices for navigation – all of which is encompassed in 3D Planeta’s patented technology, developed under the leadership of Dr. Yung Zhang, 3D Planeta’s Chief Science Advisor.
Dr. Zhang is an acknowledged world-leading researcher based at the University of New Brunswick’s (UNB) storied Department of Geomatics and Geodesy Engineering. His 30+ years of research in advanced image processing capabilities builds upon UNB’s role as a leader in the research and development of satellite positioning technology and land management systems. Dr. Zhang’s previous work helped change the way NASA, Google Earth, Canada’s Department of National Defence and private industry collect and use geospatial data.
3D Planeta’s ground-breaking geospatial image fusion technology has the potential to change the way we see and interact with our world.
Tom, me and other members of the 3D Planeta team will be telling our story here on our website. Join our conversation over on LinkedIn and find out how we can use technology and human ingenuity to chart a new path that leads to greater safety, security and intelligence across air, land and sea.
